T#073 LIFE’s WASHINGS IN LOVE & HUMILITY FOR CONTINUING PLEASANT FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER & simultaneously WITH THE LORD JESUS THE CHRIST NOW IN HEAVEN!


>>JOHN 13:1-38

 

>>verses 01-11   Washing by THE LORD HIMSELF

  • for the sake of
  • the procedure
  • HE wants us

all HIS disciples to follow
otherwise, our following cannot be fruitful


 >>verses 12-17    DISCIPLES commanded
  • to wash one another's feet

in return demonstration
>>verses 18-30    Washed
  • but did not come back to succeeding fellowships
>>verses 31-38    Washed & willing to remain in fellowship
  • but failing!

THIS IS WHY THERE IS NEED
FOR OUR CONTINUOUS

 WASHINGS with
THE WORD of GOD!
In the days of old, the Jews wore sandals and since their roads were dusty, their feet easily became dirty. When they gather for their feasts from their homes, the dirt and smell of their unwashed feet spoil the fellowship. Hence, for a pleasant feast, they need footwashing.


THE LORD - our BOSS, OWNER, and COMMANDER purposely
did this to them

  • to show them that HE loves them to the end (verse 1).
  • And HE charged them

to do the same one to another
in love (>>verses 14 & >>34)

  • so as to maintain always till forever
  • the necessary pleasant fellowship with GOD

under THE
CHIEF-PRIESTHOOD

 of THE CHRIST
our SAVIOUR, KING, CHIEF-PRIEST, and JUDGE NOW(!) 

 with


in HIS  LORDSHIP

 and HIS CHRISTHOOD

  • as well as among themselves as HIS disciples.

Today, the world is
in such dirty state

  • that no one who treads it can remain clean.
  • Our feet is our point of contact with the world.

That, for us to maintain
pleasant fellowship with
THE LORD and
with one another
in This World of
QUESTS FOR 1-RECOGNITION, 2-FAME, 3-FORTUNE,
4-INFLUENCE & CONTROL, 5-POSITION,
6-POWER, and 7-SOVEREIGNTY
dominated by our RELIGIOUS LEADERS,
POLITICIANS, BUSINESSMEN

  • we need frequent spiritual washings.


If THE LORD’s washing
of the feet
of HIS disciples were

 to be taken without
spiritual meaning
associated with it

  • then how can it be possible by such single act it was to show them and us --- HE loves them and us to the end?

When we ourselves
wash one another’s feet
 as JESUS commanded

  • we have to do it strictly according to HIS example.
  • In doing that, we must like JESUS
  • --- first lay aside our garments (>>verse 4).

Garments here is
symbolic
of the
honors and attributes
people around us see in us

  • which we have both to lay aside
  • to be able to effectively cleanse others.
  • Also, we have to be girded or be bound and restricted
  • in our movements and/or actuations by humility
  • as symbolized by the towel (>>verse 4)
  • to be able to effectively clean and dry
  • what was earlier washed
  • or we can be put to shame by our washing
  • which has proved ineffective
  • by our lack of humility and restraints.

We all need all the
time spiritual washings.

  • That is why JESUS THE CHRIST did not only teach them
  • how to wash
  • we are also taught how to effectively wash
  • one another and
  • remain washed effectively,
  • thru our universal priesthood TO ONE ANOTHER,
  • as HE purposed to the end!


Fellowships, groupings,
barkadahans are abounding
everywhere.

  • It is not THE LORD’s intention that our state of being dirty or undesirable
  • be a deterrent to our getting together often.
  • In fact, they were already assembled and having supper (>>verses 2 and 4)
  • when HE taught them

how to wash one another.


THIS MUST ALSO BE
TRUE OF OUR
SPIRITUAL
WASHINGS AS WE
GATHER
TOGETHER!!!!


It should be in our gatherings

  • that we wash one another
  • of those that make us dirty and odorous
  • before THE LORD JESUS
  • and before people.

Just as THE LORD
did not say to them

  • that they were dirty
  • and they have to be washed by HIM ---

HE just washed them without announcement,

  • nor explanation,
  • nay ado
  • (>>verses 4 to 8)
  • until someone asked HIM!

THIS TOO
OUGHT-TO-BE
OUR EVER-
CONSTANT GUIDE!

Truly, JESUS --- THE
RESURRECTED
JESUS

IN HEAVEN NOW(!),

  • is The Methodology, The Truth, and The Life
  • (>>John 14:6)
  • to be pursued by us.
  • Whether we and our fellow disciples
  • acknowledge or not that we are unclean
  • we just wash one another

with THE WORD of GOD
(>>Ephesians 5:26)


  • never with conceit but always out of love and in humility
  • even as we gather together for various other purposes like ----
  • business dealings, jogging, eating, outing, celebrating, waiting, visiting, conferencing, riding, traveling, etc..

Some of us
have come
to know
this is GOD’s
WILL for all of us

  • but we still have to realize
  • and experience in our living
  • the beauty of living it up to doing this for HIM
  • and our fellow disciples.

Only then, can we be blessed
(>>verse 17).


Don’t you want to
be blessed?


Then, you already know
exactly what to do

  • in each and every situation you may hereafter find yourself!
  • The scheduled intervals and methodologies of the different denominations' efforts along this line can never accomplish
  • GOD’s plan for LIFE’s WASHINGS!


Why delay?
