>>Mark 14: 3, 6, 9

•    Mary broke the vial of expensive perfume and poured it over JESUS’ head.

•    JESUS HIMSELF approved of her expending the whole lot of expensive perfume on HIMSELF.

•    JESUS even has ordained us all now(!) that what Mary did to HIM here

must be also told whenever
and wherever THE GOSPEL
is preached by us!

>>Mark 14: 4-5

•    WASTE, expending more than is necessary! ($, kgs, hours, resources, expertise, knowledge)

•    The act which is considered wasteful by the observers at the scene 

is ordered by JESUS to be
told to the same hearers of
THE GOSPEL that we are
to preach to now!

THREE PERSPECTIVES from which we should SEE THIS SCENE TO BE TOLD:

•    From JUDAS --- >>John 12:4-6

1.    He was not really out to be of help to the poor.

2.    He had in his mind to steal from the coffer the money it would have brought if it were not poured on JESUS.

3.    Judas here represented THE MOST ORDINARY SINNER IN THIS WORLD.

4.    So, we should all determine not to follow him!!!

•    From THE then DISCIPLES OF JESUS --- >>Matthew 26:8-9

1.    Second the motion dayon SILA ni Judas!

2.    “Get all we can from as little from us as possible.” Ma-o man ni atong training before many of us became disciples of THE CHRIST.

3.    WORST!!! THE WORLD believes everything ought to be used to the fullest in the ways they think!

4.    “They are not doing enough for The Church and the poor.”

5.    “They could have been more effective if they instead joined those circles of the prominent ones for greater acceptance.”

6.    As if wala sab sila saligue ni JESUS sama nianang mga tawong ilang gikomentaryohan ubos sa UNIVERSAL PRIESTHOOD natong tanan karon!

7.    Yet, THE LORD wants us all to be as obligated to one another in the work for HIM WHO died for all of us because we have the entire world to bring THE GOSPEL to and time is running fast.

8.    They represent THE CHRISTIANs AMONG US who are still analyzing matters on whether it is right or wrong (soulish pa!) according to their intelligence, feelings, ka-kursonada o gana and not according to the inner voice we are to listen to from ---- our spirit!

• “Mas-maayo pang gikwarta unta to daghan pa unta tong mabulahan!

converted to THE CHRIST
and we have already been
overdeveloped in our soul!

•    From MARY --- >>Mark 14:6, 8

1.    She has done that good deed to JESUS.

2.    She has done what she could.

3.    She had already anointed HIS body ahead of time.

4.    She represents the spiritual man or woman that we should ALL be as we grow to maturity in our discipleship under JESUS.

These are the 4 reasons why
THE LORD JESUS wants
all gospel preachers to tell
of her story to the same people
they will be preaching
THE GOSPEL to.

       
THE SECRET:  That in approving of Mary’s action, we are instructed by THE LORD JESUS HIMSELF to: 


first ---for ourselves:

• THAT WE POUR OUT

• WHAT WE HAVE

• and if THAT SHOULD BE ALL THAT HE ALLOWS US TO DO,

• THAT IS DEFINITELY ENOUGH TO SATISFY HIM!

second ---for the people we are preaching THE GOSPEL to:

• THAT THEY TOO SHOULD POUR OUT WHAT THEY HAVE

• and if THAT BE ALL THAT HE ALLOWS THEM TO DO,

• THAT IS DEFINITELY ENOUGH TO SATISFY HIM!

Our work for THE LORD is not
to be measured with
tangible results.

• Oh, how different from the way we have been doing all these things --

• quantifying and qualifying with figures, words, photographs

• in our reports to those denominational sponsors and benefactors

• who periodically require them of you!

THE LORD’s PRIME concerns

• are with our position at HIS feet

• and our anointing of HIS head!

The outflow from us
of THE LIFE

• that is produced because of

• our CONVERSION TO THE CHRIST

is that which we have TO
PLEASE THE LORD with!

• Oftentimes, THE LORD reserves the right

• to suspend OUR efforts for a time

• in order FOR HIM to lead us

• to a confirmation whether it is

• THE ENCOURAGING RESULTS FROM OUR WORK

or HE HIMSELF is the power
behind our efforts!

• Oftentimes, THE LORD suspends OUR efforts

• for a time

• to suggest TO US

• that we position ourselves at HIS feet

• so we will find out whether it is our ACCOMPLISHMENT

or HE HIMSELF is the power
behind our efforts!

WORKING HIS
MINISTRY TO
HIS PLEASURE

>>Mark 14:9

•    THE GOSPEL is not just to satisfy sinners.

•    Satisfying sinners is just a BONUS blessing of THE GOSPEL.

•    THE GOSPEL is to be preached to satisfy GOD!

Mary’s action has
satisfied GOD!

• That everything should be to the satisfaction of JESUS THE CHRIST

• WHO died for us all

• that in return

• WE ALL manifest

• HIS SAVING WORK,

• KINGSHIP,

• CHIEF-PRIESTHOOD

• & convicting JUDGE over us!

It is only when JESUS
is satisfied that we shall be
satisfied and all sinners as well!

•    Our satisfaction comes unfailingly when we satisfy HIM first!

•    BUT, HE will not be satisfied KUNG DILI NATO PAKAWALA-AN ANG UNSAY ANI-A NATO NGADTO KANIYA!

•    We cannot OUTgive GOD, dapat ibuhos nato ang tanang ani-a nato!

•    In the divine realm, the principle of waste is the principle of pleasing GOD!

•    The principle that determines usefulness is the principle of scattering!

•    Our work for HIM is born out of serving HIM.

•    Our highest concern must be THE LORD HIMSELF --- that HE is pleased, not our service per se for HIM.

TRUE SATISFACTION is
brought to the heart of GOD
when we are really, as the
people of the world think,
“WASTING” ourselves upon HIM.

"LORD, may we not be like how YOUR disciples then wanted usefulness to YOU in terms that could be quantified and put on for the record. LORD, may we be able to say: 'I should not mind them, if I am pleasing YOU --- that is enough. I should not be troubled like YOU said to Mary.'”


ANOINTING HIM BEFOREHAND

>>Mark 14:6-8

• “BEFOREHAND” --- A TIME FACTOR that pleases HIM in all certainty

• >>Matthew 25:14-21; >>Matthew 24:45-47; >>Luke 19:11-17 (Working for THE LORD)

• When we meet HIM on That Day, we shall certainly all be loving HIM to the utmost.

• It seems to us now(!) that that would be the day that we shall anoint HIM on HIS head.

BUT it would not be so!

• Just as Mary was not able to anoint HIM on that LORD’s Day after HIS death

• it is a joy to realize

• ANOINTING HIM BEFOREHAND

• made her the only one who anointed HIM!

+++ THE IDEA OF WASTE ONLY COMES INTO OUR CHRISTIANITY

• WHEN WE UNDER-ESTIMATE THE VALUE of HIS LORDSHIP & CHRISTHOOD

• sa IYANG pagka-OWNER, BOSS, COMMANDER ug REDEEMER, KING, CHIEF-PRIEST, JUDGE nato individually karon!)

• we are to manifest before all the people we are with!

++++ “She hath done what she could.”

• It means that she had given up her all.

• She had kept nothing in reserve for a future day.

• She had lavished on HIM all that she had --- then,

• on that particular LORD’s Day,

• she will have no reason to regret her extravagance at that time.

WHAT   ABOUT   US?

• IT IS NOT THE DISBURSING

• of time, effort, resources and energy

• in trying to do something for HIM

• THAT IS THE ISSUE.

CERTAINLY, that is not what HE requires!



WHAT JESUS LOOKS  FOR  IN US:

THE BALANCE
OF OUR LIVES

LAID AT HIS FEET

• and because HIS death and burial is already passed

• we should look forward to that greater DAY of HIS COMING in glory

• ---- AND indeed it is a far more precious thing to HIM

• THAT WE (including them to whom we preach to)

• ANOINT HIM NOW(!)

• not with any material oil or perfume

• which by the way is not at all practical anymore

• because HE is not anymore physically present among us

• --- but  WITH THAT THING COSTLY--- KEPT in OUR HEARTS!!!!

• because that which is merely external and superficial has no place here.

From the heart <>

• we should not mind getting our hearts broken

• just to let out

• that which is precious and pleasing to

• THE LORD & CHRIST

• according to HIS desire. 

THAT IS WHAT

WE SHOULD ANOINT

HIM WITH!

“ALL YOURS LORD BECAUSE YOU ARE MORE THAN WORTHY!”



FRAGRANCE

>>John 12:3

Whenever we met someone

• who has really suffered with THE LORD

• ---- someone who has gone through that experience with THE LORD

• that have brought limitation

• and who, instead of trying to break loose in order to be “used”, has been willing to be imprisoned by HIM

• and has thus learned to find satisfaction in THE LORD

• and with no one else and nowhere else

• --- then we immediately become aware of something

• --- a sweet savor and scent of THE CHRIST

• becomes noticeable in that life

• as if something has crushed or broken as the vial of alabaster of Mary was broken

• and so we smell the aroma around us.

• The truth spoken of here is what we ought to be noticeably.

• The truth spoken of here is not what we preach and teach!

That we ought to be
producing impressions and
scents of GOD upon others
is what all of us are called to
and that can be accomplished
only if
we have been broken
of everything
 precious in our soul--- at HIS feet.

GOD does not use us all

• as combined audio-video mediums to create those impressions

BUT we are all to be used randomly by HIM

• as combined visual-olfactory mediums

to CREATE HUNGER
IN OTHERS
FOR HIM!

A delicious lechon cannot
 make men who have just
finished their heavy meal
HUNGER for it. They will just
 talk about it, admire its
appearance, discuss how it
was prepared, estimate its
cost, argue about its
cholesterol content ---
preoccupied with it, BUT NOT
EAT IT until hunger is once
again with them and it will not
be long that they will
consume it! Hunger has to be
created, and it will be created
by GOD in others only through
those who carry
impressions and scents
of GOD.

>>2nd Kings 4:9 (in the specific case of ELISHA the man of GOD! – his person as noticed; not what he did!)

• LORD, let us be able to say: “We are willing to break our hearts, changed, and noticeable as such .... to all in order that we may satisfy YOUR HEART!”

• LORD, I am wiling to let go of all these for YOU; not just for YOUR ministry,  nor for YOUR church, nay for anything else at all, but altogether for YOURSELF!

Some among us like to be
always “on the go”

• but THE LORD sometimes prefer to have us in prison.

• Many think of missionary journeys

but THE CHRIST even puts HIS ambassadors in chains.

>>2nd Corinthians 2:14: But thanks be to THE GOD, WHO always leads us in HIS triumph in THE CHRIST, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of HIM in every place.

WE PRAY that THE LORD grant us KALO-OY & GRACE

• that we may learn how to please HIM

• ..... and then consequently please all sinners and ourselves

• as a result of PLEASING HIM!!!

• We pray for all of us preaching now(!)

• never to miss tell of what Mary did

• as JESUS clearly instructed all of us here.
