T#052 UNIGNORABLE very frustrating HAPPENINGS IN OUR LIFE!


>>Matthew 2:1-12


I.    GOD gives STUNNING, UNIGNORABLE, sometimes UNEXPLAINABLE HAPPENINGS

very personally frustrating to us

  • in the course of our daily living
  • as THE LORD JESUS THE CHRIST gave the extraordinary star to the magi (“HIS star” – >>verse 2)
  • which was not within their stocked knowledge to understand and grasp
  • a very embarrassing FRUSTRATING situation
  • for such learned people as they were already acknowledged for
  • in matters like the stars.


II.    GOD’s purpose in giving US
  • THESE varied FRUSTRATIONS
  • we now & then are confronted with
  • is TO LEAD US

to THE ACTUAL personal
ENCOUNTER
with THE CHRIST (>>verse 9)

  • as HE made to happen to the magi.


III.    IF we do not give way to such leads and
  • just continue with our usual attitude towards life and
  • maintain our enjoyment in our comfort zones

  • --- continue ignore such frustration-triggered leads or happenings
  • --- we run the very big risk of meeting THE CHRIST
  • on the last day as our JUDGE
  • instead of already our SAVIOR by then
  • --- because you refuse to believe THE TRUTH

& OBEY the implied commands

  • for you in >>1st Peter 4:17!


IV.    Man’s failure to encounter THE CHRIST
  • here(!) & now(!)
  • in his life
  • has always been due to the fact

that instead of a
continued focus on


  • the stunning, unignorable, sometimes unexplainable, very often unhappy HAPPENINGS
  • triggered on us as frustrations
  • very PERSONAL TO US,

 ---- we focus on it
only for
a short time; and

 thereafter loose
our focus on
that frustration

 after we consult
worldly authorities,
places and people

 as did the magi
(“arrived and asking
in Jerusalem”  
>>verses 1-2) when they
chose to go to
Jerusalem

TO ASK TO BE LEAD
TO WHERE
THE KING WAS ----


 instead of
  • being astrologers,
  • they should just have followed

their frustration for a time

  • --- THE STAR they cannot elaborate about
  • beyond knowing as HIS STAR!


V.    It is not at all surprising that
  • we now and then are lost

from that GOD-given-should-have-been focus

  • on our frustration purposely for us
  • --- and GOD knows that very well.

This is why these verses of
Scripture >>Matthew 2:1-12

 have been written for
all of us to learn from!
VI.    As we notice
  • lost were the magi
  • for having gone to Jerusalem to ask where
  • (the center of civilization then)
  • ---- yet, we also see that the necessary correction
  • for their lost direction was also provided by GOD by reference to

THE SCRIPTURES
(>>Matthew 2:5, >>8)

  • even though it may be uttered

by an equally ignorant-of-the-scriptures-men as they are


  • ---- like ---Herod, in their case!


VII.    Yes, it is true
  • when we consult worldly knowledgable men, places, authorities, and legal experts

--- GOD’s given
focus for us is lost

  • as when the magi lost the star
  • when they reached Jerusalem
  • only to find it again
  • and to be again lead by it (>>verse 9)
  • resulting in their actual encounter with THE CHRIST
  • after they have been referred back to GOD’s course
  • for them which was to be Bethlehem instead of Jerusalem!


VIII.    This is the reason
  • why so many of these stunning / unignorable / baffling / unhappy / hurting / frustrating
  • happenings very personal
  • when they come to us

ought to be fathomed
according
to GOD’s will
(>>>T#058) ---

 NOT TO BE IGNORED

 because HE’s the same GOD
WHO allowed & provided
that frustration to
happen to you!


--- and not solved by
our own interpretations and

 consolations for each other


  • because these frustrations
  • will turn into the exceedingly great joy
  • of personal encounter
  • as we are lead into by THE LORD & CHRIST
  • WHO willed THAT FRUSTRATION
  • for you!

HE IS ALIVE BUT

 SO MANY OF US
HAVE NOT ENCOUNTERED
&
EXPERIENCED HIM

 AT ALL.

IX.    Realize the havoc
  • resulting from that mistake of the magi
  • as they proceeded to Jerusalem

instead of keeping
focused and just being
lead by the star!


  • Were it not for the reliable information (>>verse 4-7)
  • Herod gathered from the magi
  • he could not have ordered the killing of those innocent children!!!

LET US in all
DETERMINATION
AVOID
THE SAME
MISTAKE & HAVOCS
away from OUR LIVES!

As we can observe,

these four (4) categories

represent the whole

breadth and spectrum

of society from

where

each one of us

is being

called-out for us

to form part of

THE CHURCH

of THE LORD JESUS

THE CHRIST

in this manner of getting

us initially

frustrated to get us

TO REPENT

Indeed,

CHRISTIANITY

is an individualized

actual encounter

with

THE LIVING LORD

JESUS THE CHRIST

NOW(!) ... WHILE

HE is still in heaven!
