BAPTISM

• WE ALL OUGHT TO OBEY

• IF WE ARE TO OBEY >>Matthew 28:19-20

• even IF ... and more so ... IF YOU ... have been baptized earlier ... in the past ... which did not fit right ... with THIS ONE BAPTISM ... as described fully here! 

>>MARK 1:4    During his lifetime, John the Baptist preached and baptized THE BAPTISM of REPENTANCE.

• This was when JESUS was still alive

• and John the Baptist in fact died

• before THE CHRIST’s public ministry.

THAT BAPTISM
of REPENTANCE

• was for the summary forgiveness of the sinnings for them then

• when JESUS did not as yet die

• for their as well as our salvation.

That was THE ONLY baptism
known to the people then

• .... until the apostles were baptized

• WITH The Holy Spirit on that Pentecost Day of A.D. 33

• as recorded in >>ACTS 2:1-4

• This is THE BAPTISM WITH The Holy Spirit!!!

THIS is

THE promised BAPTISM

• and like any promise,

• IT cannot & ought-not-to-be-taught-as-to-be obeyed

• but is merely to be received

• NOT BY ANY ONE ELSE but

only by them whom it was promised earlier

• by The Father

• thru JESUS (>>Acts 1:5)

• with HIMSELF as THE BAPTIZER.

and followed by The Catholic
Charismatics
to their members & converts

is and can nowhere be read
in THE BIBLE!]++++

Referring to >>ACTS 2:1-4,

 all of the
"they"s and "them"s
refer to

the last word in  >>Acts 1:26,
their antecedent --- APOSTLES.

• All the people in Jerusalem then

• including the apostles themselves

• didn't know that it was THE Promised BAPTISM WITH

• The Holy Spirit. (>>> T#005 following).

Peter merely referred to IT

as the fulfillment of

the prophecy of Joel
(>>verse 16).

• Hence, people then did not even come to know IT was another baptism

• as we in our obedience to >>2nd Timothy 2:15

• can distinctly differentiate IT now(!)

• from THE COMMANDED BAPTISM (>>ACTS 2:37-41).

• On that day --- the apostles were BAPTIZED WITH (yes, with .... and not ‘’’OF’’’) The Holy Spirit.

• They were emboldened and endowed with POWER

• as they proclaimed THE GOSPEL FOR THE VERY   FIRST TIME.

In a matter of just minutes, perhaps;

• after their having been baptized

• or overwhelmed with The Holy Spirit

• resulting to their PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL the very first time(!)

--- some 3,000 Jews
turned believers
in the substitutionary nature

of JESUS' redemption work

for all of us

• .... obeyed the obey-or-die commands

• "REPENT and BE BAPTIZED

FOR THE SUMMARY FORGIVENESS 

of (their individual respective) SINNINGS"

• ---- then THAT JESUS have died for all our sinnings already. 

And we are to
identify ourselves

with the 3,000 Jews turned believers
in THE LORDSHIP &
THE CHRISTHOOD of JESUS

( >>Acts 2:36)

not as ... Lord & Savior ONLY, please!

on that very day

• and not with the apostles (>>>T#043)

• as none of us are apostles (>>1st Corinthians 12:29)

• and apostleship was only for the foundation of The Household of GOD (>>Ephesians 2:19-22)

• and we are now(!) to-be the "another" and the "each one" in >>1st Corinthians 3:10-15

• and all of us in THE CHURCH in this end-times 

• for our respective selves

• are all co-responsibles for one another

because of our
UNIVERSAL PRIESTHOOD
under
THE CHIEF PRIEST-
THE CHRIST

• without anyone superior to another (>>Matthew 23:8-10)

in building upon

• that long-finished foundation 

• [apostolic teachings & methodologies]

• laid by the apostles in their lifetime

• (ended upon John's death in A.D. 96).

• Immediately before HE ascended to heaven,

• JESUS commanded the baptism for all of them

who will in due time thereafter
believe in HIS LORDSHIP
& HIS CHRISTHOOD  

• when HE is back in heaven already

• for them who have been taught and committed themselves

• as HIS REPENTANT already disciples.

This is to be administered

in the name
(by the authority of)

The Father, THE SON,

and The Holy Spirit.

• by THE then ASCENDING LORD ------

• Peter, after the fulfillment on them of >>Acts 1:8

• THESE 2 DISTINCT ONE AFTER ANOTHER COMMANDS

FOR THE SUMMARY FORGIVENESS

of THEIR SINNINGS

• specifically of those 3,000 who heard and obeyed these 2 commands

• WHICH SINNINGS have to be dealt with summarily

after they realized - believed 

THE LORDSHIP & THE CHRISTHOOD

of JESUS

and the redemption work of JESUS

• .... just 10 days after HIS ascension ....

and not for other purposes

like

giving names, nor membership
to the baptism administrator’s
sect, denomination, or 
any religious group,

nay as a proof of testimony

to their having accepted

THE LORDSHIP
& THE CHRISTHOOD
of JESUS in their lives!!!

Our obedience to this
commanded baptism

which will bring about

the things NEW and
appropriate

for our time now(!)

compared

to that what people got from

John The Baptist's
administered baptism
are: 

THE PURPOSE

• for the summary forgiveness of the sinnings

• of the one who obeys it! 

THE SOURCE OF AUTHORITY

• THE already RESURRECTED CHRIST now(!) in heaven

• WHO was officially first time announced by Peter reigning already as KING since THAT very DAY

• >>Acts 2:30-36

--- thus our official entry into HIS KINGDOM

• results to our being INDWELT by The Holy Spirit (>>Acts 2:38b)

• and made us TEMPLES of The Holy Spirit (>>1st Corinthians 3:16) 

in THIS NEW ERA when

THE SALVATION OFFER

to all of mankind is

• on the whosoever will-individual basis!

Pay particular notice to that last phrase in the verse

starting with "AND" which means it can only result

(the indwelling
of The Holy Spirit
individually in man)

..... if, the previous >>Acts 2 verses 14-36 is fulfilled.

• had THE INDWELLING of The Holy Spirit

• The burial of our old sinful self

• and thereafter raised to walk THE NEW LIFE

• so we become part of THE BODY OF THE CHRIST

• notwithstanding one has earlier been baptized for membership or for adopting names

• in any of these organized denominations around

• or if the purpose, mode, or state of relationship

• with JESUS THE CHRIST (repentant state)

• is any different from what THE New COVENANT prescribes

• when he/she submitted to whatever baptismal rite in the past.

>>EPHESIANS 4:4-5    MARKS of THE TRUE CHURCH of THE CHRIST we are to get into and be part of: 

THE ONE BODY

• indivisible & organismic, spiritual

• unlike those organized denominations around

• --- divided and increasingly divided

• working independently of each other

• cannot fellowship with some others

• cannot find unity among themselves! 

THE ONE SPIRIT

• we are to be indwelt WITH and lead BY

• ---- therefore no contradictory teachings

• WHOM we should take extreme care

• not to GRIEVE [>>Ephesians 4:30]

• WHOSE guidance we should

• not RESIST [>>Acts 7:51]

• & WHOSE insistence we should

• not QUENCH! [>>1st Thessalonians 5:19] 

THE ONE HOPE

• ---- THE LORD JESUS THE CHRIST & HIS COMING;

THE ONE LORD

• no other to be worshipped

• no other to be glorified & venerated

• our OWNER, BOSS, & COMMANDER;  

THE ONE FAITH

• in THE LORDSHIP & THE CHRISTHOOD of JESUS

• our SAVIOR, CHIEF-PRIEST, KING and JUDGE

• --- currently working as such for us &

• WHOM we all ought to RESPOND to with expediency!

THE ONE BAPTISM

• we ought to teach and administer 

THE ONE GOD

• and Father of all

• Who is over all

• and through all

• and in all.

>>JOHN 3:23     Requires much water.

>>ACTS 8:38    Administrator and candidate for baptism goes down into the water.


>>MATTHEW 3:16 * >>MARK 1:10     In the case of JESUS HIMSELF, up out of the water.


>>ACTS 8:39     In the case of the traveling eunuch

• up out of the water

• and his obedience was not subjected to a vote of approval

• by  some people he is required thereafter to be with

• as member of their church

>>ACTS 2:38    Candidate, necessarily a believer in the redemption work of THE CHRIST

• ought first TO REPENT, "Repent and be baptized."

>>ACTS 18:24-19:5    

• Written for the EXPLICIT guidance

• and to-be-referred-to-as NEEDED EXAMPLE

• for those of us .... who in our current or past religion

• have earlier submitted to a baptismal rite in that denomination or denominations

• in case you have merely been converted from one religion to another in the past.

This is the case for some disciples in Ephesus then

• who have been short of instruction as to living under THE New COVENANT Terms

• which took effect Pentecost Day, A.D. 33

Unaware of
such cut-off date

• they have not even heard of The Holy Spirit

• Who started to indwell in man that day

and for us, as soon as we now(!) obey

• the one commanded baptism

• as a repentant believer in THE LORDSHIP & THE CHRISTHOOD of JESUS. 

MEN OF GOD

in the Old Testament times

were not indwelt by

The Holy Spirit!

• John's baptism of repentance was only to accomplish repentance to them

• when JESUS have not as yet then died for our salvation.

• Only after THE CHRIST have resurrected and ascended into heaven already,

• did HE send The Holy Spirit to come to the world

• .... effective that Pentecost Day, A.D. 33 and that

• .... after THE CHRIST died on the cross

• the baptism of repentance by John was superseded by

REPENTANCE and BAPTISM

for the summary forgiveness

of our sinnings

• which we all have to obey

• by way of AVAILMENT TO

THE GRAND AMNESTY
GRANT by GOD

• to create A NEW HUMANITY

• by the grace of THE GOSPEL

• (first Preached on That Pentecost Day of A.D. 33)

• through THE FAITH in and towards

• THE LORDSHIP & THE CHRISTHOOD of JESUS!

Truly, “For where a covenant
is, there must of necessity be
the death of the one
who made it.

Truly a covenant is valid and
in effect only when its maker
is dead, for it is never in force
while the one who made it
still lives”

• Those disciples in Ephesus then are reminiscent of THE VERY MANY

• (although not all) of today's claimant Christians

• have not really belonged to THE CHRIST as yet

• as they refer to themselves in all sincerity and accuracy

• as Protestants, Pentecostals, Baptists, Catholics, INCs, Dating Daan, JIL, etc..

• by which names they are inescapably denominationalists!

They are like those disciples
then in Ephesus

• who stuck exclusively to the teachings they earlier learned

• not aware that there was much to learn as well from one another (>>>T#010)

• of THE New COVENANT

• as the rule and guide of our faith.

When a group
becomes exclusivist

• the members therein become members of a sect or denomination

• (as distinguished from Christianity – refer to >>>T#022)

• without them realizing it.  

Here is the narrative of such
group or sect or
denomination-freed
disciples.

• They were saved by JESUS HIMSELF

• from such sect / denomination

• through their RIGHTEOUS ACT OF OBEDIENCE & 

• SUBMISSION TO GOD'S WORD

• (THE TRUTH – >>John 17:17) vis-à-vis

• their sincere beliefs prior.

They humbled themselves
before THE WORD of GOD

• coming to them through Paul's mouth

• (THE WORD of GOD during their time

• was un-compiled & not as well-circulated in written form as they are to us now(!)

• and many at their time

• even questioned Paul's apostleship!).

They did not question nay compromise IT

• so unlike now(!), when ironically

• THE WORD of GOD is as a whole ---- in completely compiled written form

• well-circulated already

• and Paul's apostleship is not anymore doubted!

Yes, the difference between
the baptism they were
through and

the new baptism
they after that ... obeyed

• was THE UTTERANCE OF THE ADMINISTRATOR

• "I baptize you in THE NAME of JESUS for the forgiveness of your sinnings”.

And this resulted 
to their getting

INDWELT by
The Holy Spirit!!!

• Yes, when THE New COVENANT was not as yet

• the whole written one to refer to

• as we have it now(!)

• there was such need for such authentication

• by The Holy Spirit that their act of submission

• was righteous as when Paul laid hands on them

• after they were baptized

• and they spoke in tongues and prophesied (>>Acts 19:6).

Today, to be saved
(>>Romans 1:16)

• we have to believe and to obey

• starting with 

these do-or-die commands

• >>John 8:24, >>Luke 13:3, 5, >>2ndThess 1:8-9 (>>1stCor. 15:1-4), >>Matthew 10:32-33) 

• from THE WORD of GOD.

• The very Scriptures themselves serve as the official receipts

• to our compliance to ALL and EACH AND EVERY COMMAND (>>Matthew 28:20)

• we have been asked by JESUS

in HIS VALEDICTORY
--- to obey

ONE after ANOTHER!

• or else HIS promise to be with us always even up to the end of our time on earth cannot be true in us;  

• and the worst that will come to us when time ceases

• can only be avoided even now(!)

• if we take heed of >>John 12:48.

A sharing that believers and repentant sinners may grow further in the knowledge and love of our LORD
